On July 29, 2021, the meeting of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) took place online, attended by the President of the ESC and the Honorary President of AICESIS, a member of the ESC.
Between 15 and 20 November 2018, a delegation representing the Romanian Economic and Social Council (ESC) visited the Chinese Economic and Social Council (CESC) in Beijing, following the invitation addressed by CESC President, Mr. DU Qinglin, to Mr. Iacob Baciu, ESC and AICESIS President.
A delegation of the Economic and Social Council of Romania, led by Mr. Iacob Baciu, President, and composed of Messrs. Liviu Apostoiu, Vice-president, Bogdan Simion, Vice-president, Radu Minea, Member of the ESC Bureau, Ms. Silvia Vlăsceanu, Member of the ESC Bureau, and Ms. Eugenia Ștefănescu, Head of the International and Public Relations Department, participated in the AICESIS Board and General Assembly and in the UCESIF Bureau held on 17 and 18 September on the premises of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council of France.
Mr. Iacob Baciu, President of the ESC of Romania, accompanied by Ms. Eugenia Ștefănescu, Head of the International Relations Department, had a meeting with Mr. Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labor Organization, at ILO headquarters on July 2, 2018.
A delegation of the Romanian ESC, led by President Iacob Baciu and composed of Messrs. Dragoș Mihalache, Vice-President, Bogdan Simion, Vice-President, Liviu Apostoiu, Member of the Bureau, and Ms Eugenia Ștefănescu, head of the International Relations Department, participated in the AICESIS International Meeting, General Assembly and two AICESIS Boards, organized by the ESC of the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo on 6, 7 and 8 September.
On 27th of October 2021, the meeting of the General Assembly (GA) and the Board of Directors (AC) of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) was held in hybrid format. The meeting was organized by the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC) of Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan, together with AICESIS. The event marked the end of the mandate of the Ivorian council at the head of the Association. The Romanian CES was represented online by Mr. Iacob Baciu, member of the CES Plenary and honorary president of AICESIS.
ESC participation at international events
On 17 December 2020, between 15:00 and 18:00, the meeting of the members of the AICESIS Board of Directors took place by videoconference. Representatives of the ESCs from Curaçao, Saint Martin, France, Greece, Spain, Monaco, Ivory Coast, UCESA (Morocco), Benin, Mali, CAR, Senegal, Serbia, Romania, Russia and China, as well as general secretaries participated Deputy Representatives representing Europe (Luxembourg) and Eurasia (Korea) and AICESIS Permanent Representation to the UN.
By an electronic message received on July 12, 2019, a representative of the Market Supervisory Administration of the Yunnan Province of China requested the management of CES Romania the opportunity to have a meeting at the headquarters of our institution with its president, as well as with other members., in order to know more closely the Romanian Economic and Social Council and to receive information on the general situation of economic and social development in Romania, on ways to maintain and stabilize market prosperity, to promote sustainable economic and social development through improving market surveillance.
A delegation of the Guangdong Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), composed of six persons and headed by the CPPCC President, visited Romania between 4 and 6 June 2019 at the invitation of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) of Romania and had meetings with ESC representatives, representatives of the Romanian business environment and of the Chinese community in Bucharest.
