On September 6, 2021, between 09:30 and 18:00, the meeting of the European Semester Group took place in hybrid format. The meeting focused on the analysis of the National Recovery and Resilience Plans from the perspective of civil society.
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized in Athens, with the support of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (OKE), on 22 and 23 November 2018, the 12-th Civil Society Media Seminar on the topic of "Reasserting Europe’s Values". The event brought together communication experts and political scientists, press officers, journalists, EESC members, delegates of various European economic and social councils. Our institution was represented in this seminar by Anca Simitopol, expert in the International and Public Relations Department.
Ms. Loredana URZICĂ-MIREA, member of the Romanian ESC, participated as a representative of our institution in two events organized by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels on 24 and 25 May 2018. The two events were the Civil Society Days Seminar and the celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the EESC.
On 2nd of September 2020, from 09:00 amto 11:00 am, the EESC's Diversity Europe Group organized an online seminar in which it presented the study "Finding a new consensus on the values of European civil society and their evaluation".
ESC participation at international events
The International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) (http://www.aicesis.org/) is a young developing association. Founded in 1999.
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized on November 24 and 25, 2022, in Zagreb, together with the Economic and Social Council of Croatia, the "Connecting the EU" seminar with the theme "Geopolitical disturbances at the gate of Europe: the perspective of civil society". The event brought together journalists, press officers, EESC members and researchers who discussed the current issue affecting Europe, namely Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Since the end of October I have been the new president of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized on 23 and 24 November 2017, in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Economic and Social Council of Spain, the 11th Civil Society Media Seminar, which focused on an issue that has gained visibility and relevance lately, that is media globalization in connection with the emergence and the development of social media. The event brought together communication specialists and political analysts, journalists, EESC members and representatives of different European Economic and Social Councils. Our institution was represented by Anca Simitopol, Expert in the International Relations Department.
The European Economic and Social Committee is the European institutional forum for consultation, representation and information of civil society and the place where the latter can express its views. The EESC offers to representatives of the economic, social and civic organizations of the Member States the opportunity to play a vital role in policy making and decision making at the level of the European Community.
On 5/15/2006 the Plenary Session approved ESC areas of that may originate the representatives of civil society, other than trade unions and employers and how to accede of the their ESC Plenary Session, according to art. Article 9 ^ 1.
The government sent to the Romanian Mission in Brussels to forward the EU Council General Secretariat, the proposed nomination of Romania's representatives in the European Economic and Social Committee.
