The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized in Athens, with the support of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (OKE), on 22 and 23 November 2018, the 12-th Civil Society Media Seminar on the topic of "Reasserting Europe’s Values". The event brought together communication experts and political scientists, press officers, journalists, EESC members, delegates of various European economic and social councils. Our institution was represented in this seminar by Anca Simitopol, expert in the International and Public Relations Department.
The Economic and Social Council of Slovakia and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) jointly organized the Annual Meeting of the Presidents and Secretaries-General of the National ESCs of the EU and the EESC, which took place this year on 14 and 15 June 2018 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Ms. Loredana URZICĂ-MIREA, member of the Romanian ESC, participated as a representative of our institution in two events organized by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels on 24 and 25 May 2018. ESC participation at international events
On 2nd of September 2020, from 09:00 amto 11:00 am, the EESC's Diversity Europe Group organized an online seminar in which it presented the study "Finding a new consensus on the values of European civil society and their evaluation".
The preparatory videoconference for the Annual Meeting of the Presidents and Secretaries-General of the EU's national ESCs and the EESC, organized by the European Economic and Social Committee and the Council, took place on 25th of June 2020 from 01:30 pm to 06:00 pm. The mission of the CESlink is to create a central point of information having the objective to provide information on the organization of the EESC and the national ESCs activity, the dissemination of the national ESCs' official documents, the support and development of cooperation among the national European ESCs, the facilitation of new ESC members' integration, the extended cooperation with the IAESCSI as well as the assistance given to the EESC with the view to strengthening the communication on subjects of mutual interest of the EU and the Member States.
The government sent to the Romanian Mission in Brussels to forward the EU Council General Secretariat, the proposed nomination of Romania's representatives in the European Economic and Social Committee.
The European Economic and Social Committee is the European institutional forum for consultation, representation and information of civil society and the place where the latter can express its views. The EESC offers to representatives of the economic, social and civic organizations of the Member States the opportunity to play a vital role in policy making and decision making at the level of the European Community.
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized on 23 and 24 November 2017, in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Economic and Social Council of Spain, the 11th Civil Society Media Seminar, which focused on an issue that has gained visibility and relevance lately, that is media globalization in connection with the emergence and the development of social media. The event brought together communication specialists and political analysts, journalists, EESC members and representatives of different European Economic and Social Councils. Our institution was represented by Anca Simitopol, Expert in the International Relations Department.
The Economic and Social Council of Romania organized on Friday, 8 December 2017, at its headquarters in Bucharest, an Elective General Assembly of UCESIF. The event brought together representatives of the Francophone CES - Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Mali and Morocco - of the International Francophone Organization, the Ivory Coast Embassy and the Kingdom of Morocco. Three members of the Union, who could not attend the meeting, mandated Mr Nizar Baraka, President of the EESC in Morocco and the then President of UCESIF, to represent them. These were: Guinea's Economic and Social Council, Niger's Economic, Social and Cultural Council, and Senegal's Economic, Social and Environmental Council. ESAs from Armenia, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Greece, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mauritania, Monaco and Chad could not be represented at this event.
In the UCESIF chairmanship that CES Romania holds for the 2017-2019 mandate, Mr. Radu Minea, a member of CES Romania, represented our institution at the EESC meeting in France during which the project "The Role of France in a Dynamic Francophone "Proposed by the European and International Affairs Section of the French Council.
