The Presidency of AICESIS is held for a two-year term, according to a principle of rotation on a continental basis, by an Economic and Social Council member of the Association. Each institution that holds the presidency of the Association has the responsibility to organize a General Assembly meeting - usually at the end of its term.

Draft legislation submitted for endorsement
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized in Athens, with the support of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (OKE), on 22 and 23 November 2018, the 12-th Civil Society Media Seminar on the topic of "Reasserting Europe’s Values". The event brought together communication experts and political scientists, press officers, journalists, EESC members, delegates of various European economic and social councils. Our institution was represented in this seminar by Anca Simitopol, expert in the International and Public Relations Department.
On September 20, 2017, a delegation of the Economic and Social Council of the Central African Republic, composed of Mr. Alfred Taïnga Poloko, President, Mr. Nicolas Tiangaye, former Prime Minister, and Mr. Clément De-Boutet M'bamba, General Rapporteur, had a meeting with Mr. Iacob Baciu, President of the ESC of Romania and President of AICESIS, at the Romanian ESC headquarters in Bucharest.
A delegation of the Romanian ESC, led by President Iacob Baciu and composed of Messrs. Dragoș Mihalache, Vice-President, Bogdan Simion, Vice-President, Liviu Apostoiu, Member of the Bureau, and Ms Eugenia Ștefănescu, head of the International Relations Department, participated in the AICESIS International Meeting, General Assembly and two AICESIS Boards, organized by the ESC of the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo on 6, 7 and 8 September.

ESC participation at international events
The European Economic and Social Committee is the European institutional forum for consultation, representation and information of civil society and the place where the latter can express its views. The EESC offers to representatives of the economic, social and civic organizations of the Member States the opportunity to play a vital role in policy making and decision making at the level of the European Community.
