The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organized in Athens, with the support of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (OKE), on 22 and 23 November 2018, the 12-th Civil Society Media Seminar on the topic of "Reasserting Europe’s Values". The event brought together communication experts and political scientists, press officers, journalists, EESC members, delegates of various European economic and social councils. Our institution was represented in this seminar by Anca Simitopol, expert in the International and Public Relations Department.
Between 15 and 20 November 2018, a delegation representing the Romanian Economic and Social Council (ESC) visited the Chinese Economic and Social Council (CESC) in Beijing, following the invitation addressed by CESC President, Mr. DU Qinglin, to Mr. Iacob Baciu, ESC and AICESIS President.
The partnership between the International Association of ESC-SIs (AICESIS), presided at present by the ESC of Romania, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) was marked by the organization on 23 and 24 October of an international seminar on the Digital Revolution, the main theme of the Romanian presidency of AICESIS.
Mr. Iacob Baciu, President of the ESC of Romania, accompanied by Ms. Eugenia Ștefănescu, Head of the International Relations Department, had a meeting with Mr. Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labor Organization, at ILO headquarters on July 2, 2018.
Ms. Loredana URZICĂ-MIREA, member of the Romanian ESC, participated as a representative of our institution in two events organized by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels on 24 and 25 May 2018. The two events were the Civil Society Days Seminar and the celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the EESC.

A delegation representing the Economic and Social Council of Romania, formed of Mr. Radu Minea, Member of the ESC Bureau, and Ms. Eugenia Ștefănescu, Head of the International and Public Relations Department, participated in the UCESIF Seminar on "ESC-SIs and the broadening of the social protection floor: state of affairs in UCESIF countries and future challenges", which took place on July 3, 2017, as well as in the UCESIF elective General Assembly, which was held on July 4, in Rabat, Morocco.

A delegation of the Romanian ESC, led by President Iacob Baciu and composed of Messrs. Dragoș Mihalache, Vice-President, Bogdan Simion, Vice-President, Liviu Apostoiu, Member of the Bureau, and Ms Eugenia Ștefănescu, head of the International Relations Department, participated in the AICESIS International Meeting, General Assembly and two AICESIS Boards, organized by the ESC of the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo on 6, 7 and 8 September.
A delegation of the Economic and Social Council of Romania, led by Mr. Iacob Baciu, President, and formed of Messrs. Dragoș Mihalache, Vice-President, Liviu Apostoiu, Vice-President, Radu Minea, Member of the Bureau, Mihai Dragoș, ESC Member, and Ms. Eugenia Ștefănescu, Head of the International Relations Department, participated in the UCESIF Bureau, the AICESIS Board and the AICESIS workshop, held on 7, 8 and 9 March 2018, in Abidjan, at the headquarters of the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council of the Ivory Coast. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Adrian Marin, AICESIS General Rapporteur.
The government sent to the Romanian Mission in Brussels to forward the EU Council General Secretariat, the proposed nomination of Romania's representatives in the European Economic and Social Committee.

Consiliul Economic şi Social din România a fost invitat de către conducerea CES-ului din Malta şi cea a Comitetului Economic şi Social European să participe la Reuniunea anuală a preşedinţilor şi secretarilor generali ai CES-urilor din statele membre ale UE şi ai CESE, eveniment care, în acest an, se va desfăşura în Malta, la Valletta, în zilele de 22 şi 23 iunie 2017.
The Economic and Social Council of Romania organized on Friday, 8 December 2017, at its headquarters in Bucharest, an Elective General Assembly of UCESIF. The event brought together representatives of the Francophone CES - Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Mali and Morocco - of the International Francophone Organization, the Ivory Coast Embassy and the Kingdom of Morocco. Three members of the Union, who could not attend the meeting, mandated Mr Nizar Baraka, President of the EESC in Morocco and the then President of UCESIF, to represent them. These were: Guinea's Economic and Social Council, Niger's Economic, Social and Cultural Council, and Senegal's Economic, Social and Environmental Council. ESAs from Armenia, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Greece, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mauritania, Monaco and Chad could not be represented at this event.
We found with deep emotion and immense sadness the news of the death of my brother, colleague, my dear friend, CESEC President of Ivory Coast and AICESIS President, Mr. Charles Koffi DIBY, who died on December 7, 2019.
